Lakes Community CenterMeeting Minutes March 5, 2020
President David Hall called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Quorum requirements were met with three Board members present: David Hall, Tom Joynt, and Karan Hall. VP position remains vacant and Frank Toothaker was absent. Secretary’s Report: Motion by Tom Joynt and second by Karan Hall to approve the minutes of February 6, 2020, as posted on the web site. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: No report. Old Business ADA Compliance: The following upgrades have been completed to get LCC in compliance with ADA requirements: 1) lever handles on bathroom doors, 2) chair height (16-½”) commodes in handicap stalls, 3) flush handles on side of commode tank towards the open area, 4) soft covers over the pipes under the sinks. Parking Lot is considered to be in compliance for a van accessible stall per the exception stated in the UPCodes text. Railings outside need additional work. Bill Beeson will ask for an inspection to check off completed work and gain an additional six months on the final inspection. Kitchen Remodel: Project will be put on hold but fund raising will continue. Publishing New Rates: Web site needs to be updated with new rental rates for LCC. User agreement text needs to be typed and added to the first page of rental agreement already established. Sponsor Johnny Greene: Material list is in progress. Alan Carley has agreed to help as a consultant. New Business LCC Poling Place: Equipment for voting arrived at LCC on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Removal date will need to be established so that total days occupied can be determined and used for billing the LA County Registrar. Calendar Maintenance: Tom Joynt announced that he is moving out of state and will no longer be able to do the LCC Secretary job or maintain the calendar. Karan Hall asked for information on handling the calendar duties. A farewell gathering for Tom and Linda Joynt was discussed. Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rock was chosen for the event. Redo Front Sign: David Hall suggest posting a permanent sign stating “This Facility for Rent” so traffic can observe facility availability. Web site update will need to be completed. A property manager is also needed. Farmers Market: Concept is still under study. 49er Meeting: Meeting to start 49er Day planning will happen on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. at LCC. Calendar Review: The Field Trip to William S. Hart Park is now planned for April 25, 2020. The outing will include a breakfast stop at the Saugus Cafe. The LA Department of Public Works has requested a meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss sewer rates. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 8:01 p.m.
